This sweet classical residential building in the Victorian style has been designed for a construction company’s new project of housing located near the Huazhong Bridge in Taipei.
The keynote of the design concepts is a traditional, classical vocabulary. Rococo floriation, fireplaces, crystal chandeliers, parquet stone, ornamental mirrors etc. can be seen everywhere. These classical elements are integrated with modern building materials by means of modern production methods, resulting in a variation of the Victorian style — simplified in form but rich in content.
The designer attempts to reinterpret the European classical style of a home environment. What is created is a classical atmosphere accompanied by a contemporary spirit — through the interaction between the traditional elements and the modernistic furniture, decorations and colors as well as the new building materials.
